Grievance Rep Report
West Allis Plant by John Nalepinski At our informational meeting on September 14, 2000 we were informed that orders are weak. The only model flywheel needed is the Model 28. If they work on Saturday down South, then we will work here as well. Moving Model 9 flywheel will be moved to the Burleigh Plant in 6 weeks. The inserts and ring gears also. The manifolds from Dept. 551 are being moved in 6 weeks to M8M. Model 13 flywheels are going to be moved at the end of this year. Model 40 flywheels are moving in April of 2001. Model 28 and V-twin flywheels are going to be moved down South in May of 2001 instead of August. All these dates are tentative and subject to change. The new Dept. M8 will only have two shifts running – flywheels 1st and 2nd shift. The Model 28 and V-twin flywheels that are being moved down South will leave about 60% of our members here falling under the job elimination language of the Contract. At best, with the moves and the criminal insurance rates we are about to pay, it’s very ugly here. To all the stewards, a big thank you. In solidarity, John Nalepinski |
