SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM

“PACE HAS ANNOUNCED ITS 2002-2003 UNION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM”

Every “active” member in good standing who presently has a child in their senior year of high school will have the opportunity to compete for one of twenty $1,000.00 awards. Upon receipt of a completed and accepted preliminary application form, a supplemental packet of forms will be sent to the applicant. The judging will be based on scholastic achievement, character and financial need. The application must be postmarked by March 15, 2003 and the supplemental forms must be postmarked by April 15, 2003.

The Nicholas C. Vrataric Scholarship Fund will also be available. It is offered to PACE members only. This program has two $1,000.00 awards available. These awards will be selected by a random drawing.

The completed applications for both programs must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2003. Both types of applications require a 500-word essay to be submitted. The essay should be about our local Union. It may be about the history of the Local, experiences you have had about working on a committee; a strike situation or how the Union helped your family or community.

Application forms will be available at the Union office, the membership meetings, or can be downloaded from the International website @ www.paceunion.org.
