Briggs Retiree Club

    It is hard to believe the year 2000 is coming to an end! We, the Committee, all want to wish you, one and all, a Very Healthy Happy Holiday Season and year 2001!
    Sunday, December 10th, is our Christmas Party at Alioto’s on Mayfair Rd & Burleigh St. (main floor dining area) Doors will open at 11:00 am. and (lunch) dinner is at 12:00 noon. Door prizes and dancing, free beer and soda and a good time for all members, so plan on coming.
    Our new calendar of events is now ready, so pick one up at one of our Club events.
    Remember that you must be a paid-up member to attend any of our events. Dues are $24.00 per year. Call Erma Gorecki for more information at 781-895l.
    Please bring a $3.00 gift or donation for next year to be in our door prize drawing at our meetings. Bingo is on the second Wednesday of the month and the regular meetings are on the third Wednesday of the month. On Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. there will be card playing with free prizes at every table.
    We especially want to thank Briggs & Stratton for their generous donations to our Club all year and also, thank you to PACE Local 7-232 for letting us put our article in their “Reporter” each month. Let us not forget all the work that the Entertainment Committee and their helpers do. Without their help we could not survive. Thanks to all of you. You are all super, caring people.
    Please bring your December birthday and anniversary cakes to our regular meeting in January.
    Our get well wishes to Ida Hansen, Rose Kowalski, Delores Perez, Virginia Lukasavage, Arlene Matt, Dolores Higgins and Jerome Palacek. Our sympathy to the family of Eileen Johnson who passed away. Also, let us remember to visit or call our Brigg’s retirees in nursing homes.
