Vicky Black elected Trustee-at-Large

Vicky Black
Michael Foster vested his rights from Briggs &
Stratton, hence resigning his position as Local 7-232’s Trustee-at-Large.
Nominations were taken at the October membership meeting where 6 candidates were
nominated. Since this was the Trustee-at-Large position, members from both
Strattec and Briggs & Stratton were eligible to run.
The nominees were Dorothy Evans and Chuck Porter from
Strattec and Vicky Black, Linda Stein, Ron Stewart and Candy Schultz from Briggs
& Stratton.
The Primary Election was held on October 27, 2000. The
results of the Primary were as follows:
Vicky Black -
227
Candy Schultz
– 220
Ron Stewart
– 204
Dorothy Evans
– 99
Linda Stein
– 59
Chuck Porter
– 56
No candidate received more than 50% of the vote. Therefore,
the top two candidates, Vicky Black and Candy Schultz, had a run-off election on
November 10, 2000.
The result of that election was Vicky Black – 733 votes and
Candy Schultz – 351 votes. Thus, Vicky Black was elected and will serve out
the rest of the term, which ends in March of 2001.
