It’s a shame!

by Strattec Elected Representatives

In January, Strattec informed the Union that they were moving 65 jobs, primarily from Department 90 Key Finishing, to a new facility in Mexico.

It's a shame that our members, their families and the community have to suffer.

It's a shame that for the second time, we have to watch as our jobs go to Mexico.

It's a shame that Strattec will exploit more Mexican workers just to increase an already profitable company's profits.

It's a shame that our members journeyed to great lengths to help re-design Department 90 when the plant re-arrange was taking place, to enhance product movement, part production, and product quality.

It's a shame that our members, to the best of their ability, continued to strive to do a great job in cutting costs and in proving inefficiencies, with the belief that they were doing everything possible to maintain job security.

It's a shame that Strattec would want to lose the expertise of our members. That expertise produced a quality product and made Strattec the dominant player in the lock and key business.

It's a shame when even President Bush said in his State of the Union Address, that we need to do more to have American family supporting jobs, that Strattec responds by shipping jobs out of America.

We all need to be participants at Strattec with goals of having good family supporting jobs, health care benefits to take care of ourselves and our families and the opportunity to retire with dignity as a result of our loyal service.

Keep our jobs here!

We have a great deal to offer!
