  1.  If an employee with less than five (5) years of seniority on his last day of work is temporarily laid off, his insurance shall be continued by the company but not beyond the end of the third month following the month in which the layoff starts.

  2. If an employee with five (5)  or more years of seniority on his last day of work is temporarily laid off, his insurance shall be continued by the company but not beyond the end of the sixth month following the month in which the layoff starts.

  3. If an employee with less than ten (10) years of seniority is temporarily laid off, his insurance shall be continued by the company but not beyond the end of the ninth month following the month in which the layoff starts.

If you are not actively working, but are still eligible for coverage, your payment for your portion of the insurance premium must be received at the Group Insurance Department by the twentieth calendar day of the month.

Vacation Shutdown

If there is to be no vacation shutdown or only a partial shutdown, employees of the affected departments shall be so advised by April 1st of the vacation year. Employees of a department scheduled to work during the vacation period or required to perform emergency work where advance notice is not possible, may exercise their seniority as to their choice of working or not.

The normal vacation shutdown this year will begin on July 15, with the last day of work on Friday, July 14th. The shutdown ends on July 30, with members returning to work in July 31st.

Plant 1 production cutback

Department L1X, 2nd shift is scheduled to go down effective April 10, 2000. This will effect 44 assemblers, 6 setup, 2 truckers and 1 supervisor. The company said they expect second shift to start back up about July 31st.

Department M1X second shift is scheduled to run with 11 operators and 5 setup. It is not known when production will increase in machining.

When I asked about the reason for this cutback, management said it was due to a lack of orders and high inventory.
