Gorecki Elected President Two
officers re-elected and 3 new officers elected, Strattec
re-elects one Bargaining Committee member and elects one new member Greg Gorecki was elected President of Local 7-232 on March 3. Gorecki defeated Candy Schultz, who had been president since 1995. Prior to this election, Gorecki served as compensation analyst, for Local 7232 and had been a grievance representative and alternate grievance representative prior to becoming analyst. Five other positions on the Executive Board were contested in this election. Two incumbents were re-elected. Joe Chambers was elected to his seventh term as Financial Secretary-Treasurer and Scott Godshaw was re-elected to a second term as Recording Secretary. Three new officers were elected. Colin Campbell was elected Vice President. Dennis Clark was elected Sergeant at Arms, and Ross Winklbauer was elected as Briggs Trustee. 1 returned, 1 new on Strattec Bargaining CommitteeAt Strattec, Dennis Nowak was re-elected to his third term on the Bargaining Committee and Al Belanger was elected for the first time. Two officers had been unopposed for re-election and were elected by acclamation. Ralph Schweiger was unopposed as Strattec Trustee and Carol Aumann was not opposed for her position as Guide. Turnout for the March 3 election was very good with almost 2,000 members voting in the plants and at the Local 7-232 office. The Election Committee worked a long day to make the voting go smoothly, opening the polls as early as 4:30 A.M. and working until all votes were tallied after 7:00 P.M. They all should be thanked for a job well done! The final results for the General Election were as follows:
