PACE Region X Women’s Network Meeting

Debra Figueroa and Carol Aumann attended the PACE Region X Women’s Network Meeting on March 23, 2001 in Appleton at the Holiday Inn Select.

The guest speaker, from Morgan, Stanley, Dean, Witter, was financial advisor William T. Oswald. The topics covered were financial planning and estate planning.

These issues are often overlooked by working women. It is important for women to learn about these issues, especially since women have a longer life expectancy requiring them to plan more carefully and often putting women in the position of dealing with passing estates on to children since they often outlive their spouses.

Under new business, the PACE International Union Health & Safety Grant Program was discussed. The classes have been developed by workers, for workers and led by worker-trainers. PACE offers these classes free and on site.

The next Women’s Network Meeting will be June 22, 2001 in Milwaukee, sponsored by Local 7-209 at Harley-Davidson.
