Time to get ourselves ready for our coming Summer events! Asking all new and old retirees to come and join our Briggs Retiree Club. Meet some of your old friends and make some new ones. Dues are $24.00 per year or $12.00 for six months from January to June and July to December. Call Financial Secretary Erma Gorecki at 781-8951 for more information. You must be a paid-up member to attend any of our events. April 11th is our last Bingo until October. Bingo is always the second Wednesday of the month. Sheepshead is every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. and will be played all Summer, but no prizes will be paid out during that time. April 18th will be our Breakfast Brunch at the Legion Post in Elm Grove from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The cost is $2.00 and you may bring a guest for the price of $5.50, also payable at the door. To get to the Legion Post, take Watertown Plank Rd. west past Highway 100 to Legion Dr., turn left on Legion Dr. going South and the “American Legion Post” will be on the right side of the road. Our Club monthly meeting will follow. Please bring your birthday cakes on that day. There will be free beer and soda. On Thursday, April 26th, Briggs & Stratton will be having their Spaghetti Dinner for the retirees along with a Book Fair. Enter at Door W15. The cost for the dinner is $3.95, including bread sticks, or $4.40 with your beverage. You can bring a container if you have leftovers to take home. Do not get there before 10:45 a.m. Serving time is 11:00 a.m. Some of the proceeds will go to help Community Services (our fellow members). Let’s all help this up-coming event. Thanks to Dolores Higgins for her caring and planning it. On Sunday, May 6th, Briggs & Stratton is having an Open House. Letters were sent out to all employees and their families. I am sure you all received one. Do plan on going. There will be a tour of some of the Plant from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Enter at Door W17. Remember our sick and shut-ins: Carolyn Wucherer, Marianne Dreweck, Robert Johnson. Our sympathy to the family of Elizabeth (Betty) Seeger who passed away. Until next time, take care of yourselves, stay healthy and God Bless. Frances P. Capello Corresponding Secretary 262-251-7514 |
