All incumbents re-elected

Incumbent candidates were all re-elected to their respective positions in the March 16 election.

Vicky Black was re-elected as Trustee-at-Large in the only Union-wide election this year. Black, a quality analyst at Briggs, defeated Dorothy Evans, a quality auditor at Strattec, 782 to 403.

Karl Schneider, Grievance Representative from Strattec, defeated Debbie Figueroa, the Chief Steward, in a closely contested race. The vote was 198 to 176. Nearly 80% of the Strattec membership voted, an excellent turnout.

In the only other race, Mike Merrill and Barb Schuller won re-election by comfortable margins. Merrill had 489 votes, Schuller had 431 and Joseph Vogds had 223.

As was reported in last months Reporter, one name was absent from the ballot that had originally accepted nomination for this position. Mike Parsons was moved to 2nd Shift due to a cutback in his department. He was not moved back to either 1st Shift (his original shift) or 3rd Shift, so his name was removed from the ballot.

Congratulations to those that were elected and thank you to those who took the time to make their voices heard by getting out to vote.
