   Members are urged to Attend this Meeting.

Family Health Plan clinics will provide new options

           Two new options from Compcare for employees at Briggs & Stratton are being offered using the Family Health Plan Doctors. There is a new option for a Premier Plan at Family Health Plan and an option for a Special Edition Plan at Family Health Plan. In the past, members had not been able to use these clinics under Compcare, because Family Health Plan was a separate HMO with the clinics serving only people in that HMO.

          Effective November 1, 2000, Family Health Plan is going out of business as an HMO. Aurora is taking over the clinics and Compcare will be picking up the insurance for Family Health Plan subscribers. Because of this change, Briggs was able to negotiate a new plan with Compcare that will provide rates lower than any of the other providers in the Compcare Network.

          Family Health Plan currently has 7 clinics. These clinics will stay open in most cases. We have been told that Aurora may combine some of these clinics with existing Aurora clinics where this makes sense. If that happens, members using the Family Health Plan options under our insurance will still be using the Family Health Plan doctors even if they are in an Aurora clinic.
