Candidate
may be ineligible for general election
After he was nominated and accepted nomination for the position of
Grievance Rep for 1st and 3rd shift at the Burleigh and Menomonee Falls Plants,
Mike Parsons was moved to second shift. This move was the result of production
cutbacks and layoffs in his department.
Because a grievance rep must be an employee of the plant and shift they
represent, Parsons will not be eligible for the position for which he was
nominated if he remains on second shift.
Once elected, a grievance rep would not be moved to another shift because
of the super seniority language in the contract. (Article VIII, Section 4, page
25) Super seniority could not be used to move him to a different shift if he
were to be elected. Super seniority cannot be used for transfers. It can only be
used for an elected representative remaining on the respective shift in the
plant or division they represent.
Parsons is still listed as a candidate and pictured above. If he is moved
to either first or third shift at the Burleigh or Menomonee Falls Plant or has a
transfer scheduled to be effective no later than Monday, March 19, he will
remain on the ballot.
If he cannot be moved by that date, his name will not be on the ballot.
