Grievance Rep ReportsWest Allis Plant
by John NalepinskiOn January 29, 2001, we were notified by the Company, of permanent job eliminations at the West Allis Plant. On or about April 1, 2001, some jobs will be permanently reduced in the Flywheel Department 552. The first reduction will consist of 3-6 operators. We were also informed of permanent reduction when the move is completed. This is a list of the jobs that will be lost due to the flywheels being moved down South. 71 Machine Operators 6 Supervisors 2 Machine Tenders 2 Power Equipment Operators 1 Set-Up B 9 Set-Up A 4 Janitors 1 L.G. 18 Repair Person 7 L.G. 20 Inspectors 2 L.G. 18 Percentage Inspectors 1 L.G. 15 Quality Analyst 1 L.G. 17 Gauge Setter THIS IS VERY DEVASTATING AND HARD TO SWALLOW FOR MANY MEMBERS. We were informed that there might be just first shift running in M8X and maybe a small crew on second. The amount needed to run the new M8X would be approximately 61 employees total. The future, right now, for me, does not look so sunny and hopeful. I would like to take this time to recognize the Stewards. Not just mine, but all Stewards, for their dedication and hard work they do for our members. |
