Nomination for Vice-President at September meeting

Nominations will be taken at the September 19th membership meeting to fill the vacancy in the position of Vice-President. This vacancy was created when Colin Campbell retired on July 1st. The person elected will fill the term until March of 2004. The election for this position will take place on September 27th. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the votes, a runoff election will be held on October 4th between the two candidates receiving the most votes. The locations will be in the plants and the Union Office.

Members that have been in good standing for at least 12 months are eligible for this office.

Any member desiring to run for this office must notify the Recording Secretary in writing, prior to or within 48 hours of the end of the nomination meeting, of his or her desire to accept nomination for this office. Because the meeting takes place on Thursday, it has been interpreted as not including the weekend, so nomination must be accepted in writing to the Recording Secretary no later than 4:00 on Monday, September 23rd.
