Strattec Security Plant Grievance Rep Report

By Karl Schneider

As you all know, a vote to separate was held on May 24, 2000. 400 members voted that day. Out of that number, I would have liked to have seen 400 members vote to stay in Local 7-232. That did not happen. The majority has spoken. We are a democracy and I expect all members to show respect to their fellow Union Brothers and Sisters. I challenge all 400 that voted, and the 75 + that did not vote, to become more active and show unity in our Union. With that said, I would like to move on.

This is the last month to request 2000 vacations. If you are having problems getting your vacation, see your steward.

If you have a grievance that involves lost time, it is very important to keep accurate records of the time you are not getting paid.

If you have a Worker’s Compensation claim and EBI denies your claim, let me or your steward know and I can help you file an appeal with the State. Also, if you have FMLA, it is very important to review your paperwork to make sure it has all the information required and that it is accurate information.

Last, I know I do not say it enough, but I want to thank all the stewards for their efforts, especially second and third shift. They do not have the resources available to them that first shift has. THANK YOU!

                          In Solidarity,

                          Karl Schneider
