Participation recognition program initiated for members attending union meetings

At the May 25th meeting, membership approved a plan to encourage and recognize participation at monthly membership meetings. The recognition program will award Local 7-232 caps to members who attend four meetings in a twelve-month period, or Local 7-232 T-shirts to members who attend six meetings in a twelve-month period.

This plan was proposed by the Local 7-232 Executive Board to encourage participation at the monthly membership meeting, recognize the members who do participate on a regular basis and to promote the wearing of union caps & shirts in the workplace and community.

Members will be notified when they have attended four meetings, at that point they may request a cap, or wait until they have attended six meetings and then request a T-shirt. When a cap or T-shirt is awarded, the credit for four or six meetings will be deducted from the member’s record. That means to receive both a cap and T-shirt a member must attend a total of 10 meetings.

Credits are maintained on each member’s attendance record for 12 months.

Local 7-232 caps and T-shirts will also be available for sale in the near future. It will be announced in the next Local 7-232 Reporter and posted on the Local 7-232 Web Site.
