Briggs Retiree Club
With the beginning of year 2001, let’s all try to attend our monthly
doings and invite our retired friends to join our Club. Our many thanks to
Briggs & Stratton for all their yearly help and to Local 7-232. Without
them, we could not go on.
Our Christmas Party was a good time for all, with such a great turnout.
Now we must start our New Year.
Hope you all picked up your 2001 calendar of events. Here are a few of
the coming events:
The regular monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every
month. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and the meetings start at 12:00 noon. Please
bring your $3.00 minimum door prize. To win, you must donate one time a year.
Names will be drawn at our monthly meeting. Also, bring your birthday treats to
the monthly meetings.
Bingo is held the second Wednesday of the month from January to May and
is free. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and the games begin at 12:00 noon.
Card playing (Sheepshead) is played every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
Bowling is at 1:00 p.m. on Thursdays.
All the above events are held at the Bowlero on 117th and Burleigh St.
We will be having a Pancake Brunch on Wednesday, April 18th at the
American Legion Post located one and one-half blocks north of Watertown Plank
Rd. (which is Legion Dr.). The cost will be $2.00 per person, in advance.
Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and toast will be your choices. Doors will
open at 11:00 a.m. and brunch will be served at 12:00 noon. Business and social
activities to follow. Bring your birthday or anniversary treats to this get
together.
Marcy Gocel is planning a trip to the Casino at Oneida in March. The date
will be announced at our next meeting.
Read your monthly 7-232 Reporter for any up-coming events. Remember that
you must be a paid-up member to attend any of our events. Dues are $24.00 per
year or you can pay for six (6) months at a time – January-June $12.00 –
July-December $12.00. Dues are paid to Gerry Kunda. Please call Erma Gorecki at

Our get-well wishes to Susan Tetting and Mary Kroenke. Our sympathy to
the family of Delores Perez.
