Grievance Rep Report

Strattec Security Plant

By Karl Schneider

The Company has made a change in management in the Die Cast Value Stream. There were several issues with the previous leader of that group. The employees safety and how they were treated being key factors. Hopefully, these issues will not resurface under the new manager in this Value Stream.

In Dept. 90 the Company has informed us that they have acquired new work that they intend to do outside of Milwaukee. We do not know all of the effects this will have on Dept. 90. I can tell you that the Company is moving 1 notcher, 1 vertical molder and 1 horizontal molder out of the Milwaukee facility and they have purchased 1 new vertical molder to be brought into the Milwaukee facility.

Just a reminder, to be eligible for holiday pay you must meet the day before and the day after requirements. If a bereavement should occur during the holiday, call your bereavement to the attendance system (STARS) and then take the contractual allowable days immediately following the holiday period.

Once again, I want to recognize and thank our members who participated in or supported the United Way Campaign this year. Well done!

I would like to thank the Executive Board and the Bargaining Committee and all the Stewards for all their hard work and support during the past year.

The Strattec Bargaining Committee and I wish all members of Local 7-232 a Safe and Happy Holiday Season and a Prosperous New Year.

            In solidarity,

            Karl Schneider
