PACE Scholarship ProgramPACE is pleased to announce the plans for the 2001-2002 PACE International Union Scholarship Awards Program. Our International Union is playing an important role in the field of education by sponsoring one of the most outstanding programs in the trade union movement. This year, again, there will be two (2) separate scholarship programs. One being offered to the dependents of our members and the other being a program that is offered to PACE members. Every member in good standing who presently has a child in their senior year of high school will be eligible to take advantage of this opportunity to compete for one of twenty (20) $1,000 awards. The judging will be based on determining scholastic achievement, character and financial need. The second program, made available by the Nicholas C. Vrataric Scholarship Fund, will be offered to members only. This program consists of two (2) $1,000 awards. The only requirement is that a member be in good standing with PACE and be currently enrolled in a program to further their education and will be attending the 2002 Fall semester. Also, a 500 word essay about the history of our Local will be required. Preliminary applications are available at the Union Office at 8500 W. Capitol Dr. or at the next membership meeting on January 24, 2002. The completed preliminary applications must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2002 and must have our Local seal on it.
