Membership Meeting

Nomination and Election will take place for Recording Secretary to fill the vacancy of Karen Clark, who is retiring January 1, 2009

Nominations will take place for the following positions:

Trustee at Large, Strattec Grievance Rep, Briggs Grievance Rep, 2 Briggs Bargaining Committee Members

   Members are urged to Attend this Meeting.

Briggs Retiree Club

          Our June and July Picnics were enjoyed by many. Next we will have our August 20th Luncheon and Dance at Hart Park. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon, with activities and dancing to follow, starting at 12:00 noon. There will be door prizes and it should be a great afternoon, so please plan on attending.

          Our Bingo will start again in October on the second Wednesday of the month. The Sheepshead Tourney will be played every Tuesday. Playing begins at 12:00 noon. Prizes will be awarded free at each table. Our monthly meetings are every third Wednesday of the month at a new time, which is 12:00 noon. All these events are held at the Bowlero.

          Remember that you must be a paid-up member to attend any of these events. Dues are $24.00 per year or $12.00 for 6 months from January to June and July to December. Call Treasurer Erma Gorecki at 781-8951 if you need any more information.

          Let’s remember to give our thanks to Briggs & Stratton for their help in keeping our “Briggs Retiree Club” going. Also, Pace Local 7-232 for their help and the space for my write up in the “Reporter”.

          Our get-well wishes to Eugene Blonski, Mary Kronke and Arlene Matt. Let’s remember all the retirees in nursing homes and take time to give them a visit or a call whenever we can.
